The Abington Heights girls swimming team defeated Valley View, 107-76, in a Wyoming Valley Conference swim meet Feb. 4.


In the 200 medley relay, the Lady Comets team of Krista Brickel, Eliza Burdick-Risser, Leah Byman, and Aliza Selznick finished first; and their team of Annie Gromelski, Sydney Gualtieri, Jessa Sablan, and Rachel Smertz finished second.


Chloe Sweeney finished first, Brickel second, and Morgan Muller third in the 200 free. Burdick-Risser finished first in the 200 intermediate medley. Gualtieri finished second in the 50 free. Gromelski finished first, Sydney Dana second, and Natalie Kozar third in the diving competition. Byman finished first and Burdick-Risser second in the 100 fly. Sweeney finished second in the 100 free. Muller finished second in the 500 free. The team of Sablan, Muller, Sweeney, and Smertz finished second in the 200 free relay; and Brickel, Caila Pitts, Siobhan Cahill, and Byman finished third. Brickel finished second and Catherine Simakaski third in the 100 back. Gualtieri finished first and Danielle Sanok third in the 100 breast. The team of Muller, Burdick-Risser, Gualtieri, and Sweeney finished first in the 400 free relay.


The Abington Heights boys team defeated Valley View, 127-41.


The Comets team of Walker Kay, Noah Shapiro, Luke Fazio, and Max Voyce finished first in the 200 medley relay; and Sam Jubon, Charlie Gromelski, Ben Vale, and Andrew Barren finished second.


Max Voyce finished second and Sam Vale third in the 200 free. Ben Vale finished first and Dan Stevens third in the 200 intermediate medley. Fazio finished first and Matt Remus second in the 50 free. Colin Florey finished first in the diving competition. Fazio finished first, DJ Weiland second, and Zachary Karabin third in the 100 fly. Shapiro finished second and Ben Vale third in the 100 free. Sam Vale finished second and Weiland third in the 500 free. The team of Ben Vale, Shapiro, Max Voyce, and Sam Vale finished first in the 200 free relay; and Remus, Kay, Stevens, and Fazio finished third. Kay finished first, Jubon second and Kevin Albright third in the 100 back. Shapiro finished first and Gromelski second in the 100 breast. The team of Remus, Sam Vale, Barren, and Stevens finished first in the 400 free relay; Weiland, Trevor Sablan, Shane Cummings, and Sam Jubon second; and Evan Fenstermaker, Karabin, Albright, and Danny Voyce third.
