Kenneth Peter Justave, 52, of Scranton, died Monday, April 27, after a courageous battle with cancer. His wife of 20 years, the former Susan Louise Counterman, died July 22, 2004.
Born June 19, 1956, in Scranton, son of Doris Lentes Justave of Scranton and the late Peter Justave, he was a 1974 graduate of Bishop Klonowski High School, Scranton, and studied liberal arts and pre-law at Kings College, Wilkes-Barre. He furthered his vocational education at the Lackawanna Vocational School and was trained as a welder and diesel mechanic. Before his illness, he was employed by Mactac, Scranton, for more than 26 years, where he worked as a maintenance mechanic. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping and fishing. He was a talented man who enjoyed restoring his home with his late wife and their son. A gentle, kind person, he cherished antiques and the way of life in years past. He had great fondness for his best friend, Shadow.
Surviving are a son, Dominick Joseph Justave, at home; a brother, Joseph and wife, Kathy, Harding; a sister, Karen Justave, Scranton; his companion, Susan Anderson, Scranton; nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Justave.
Memorial services were in the Providence United Methodist Church, with services by the Rev. Ginger L. Daubenhauser, pastor. Interment will be at convenience of the family in Pittston Cemetery.
