Joseph W. Mooney, 57, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, Dec. 26, upon arrival at Roxboro Hospital, Philadelphia.
Born July 27, 1952, in Scranton, he was the son of the late James A. and Agnes Ryan Mooney. He lived in Philadelphia for more than 30 years and was formerly of Clarks Summit. He was a 1970 graduate of Abington Heights High School and Nichols College, Dudley, Ma. Before his illness, he owned and operated William Patrick Catering, Philadelphia.
Surviving are two daughters, Bridgette and Brittany; his former wife, Joetta, Norristown, with whom he maintained a caring relationship; three brothers, James, Pensacola, Fl.; Tim, Seattle, Wa.; and John and wife, Suzanne, Clarks Summit; nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
A memorial service was held Saturday in Norristown, and local arrangements are to be announced with arrangements by the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit. For details, directions or to send an online condolence, visit .
