A holiday tradition occurred in Tunkhannock recently as the eighth annual Christmas in Our Hometown was held Dec. 4 and 5. The event began with the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Claus, by horse drawn carriage accompanied by Tunkhannock Mayor Norm Ball and his wife. The downtown Christmas tree was lit at the Dietrich Theatre. Tunkhannock was transformed into a Christmas Wonderland to rival the North Pole as brass band music and carols fill the air. Available were horse and buggy rides, refreshments, gingerbread house contests, ice sculptures and more.
