Washington College senior goalkeeper Elena Nicholoff (Tunkhannock/Lackawanna Trail) concluded her fourth and final season with the Washington College field hockey team. A First Team All-Centennial Conference pick for the second straight season, she started in all 17 games for the Shorewomen in 2009.
Serving as a tri-captain this season, she played 1157:35 of 1245:29 in goal this season for the Shorewomen. She made 133 saves, a 2.12 goals against average and tallied an .792 save percentage. Nicholoff turned away a season-best 13 shots at Ursinus on Oct. 28.
She won Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 5.
In 69 career games, 68 starts, she has a 2.42 goals against average, 584 saves, a .782 save percentage and 10 shutouts in 4716:38 of action. She has earned the conference defensive player of the week four times in her career. Her 584 saves is tops all-time at Washington College.
The Shorewomen finished 6-11 and 3-7 in the Centennial Conference.
