Riders at Cedar BMX Park joined bicycle racers across the country as they participated in the Race for Life to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on May 17.
Top contributors were honored for their efforts with a week-long trip to Camp Woodward and free races at the Newton track. Riders at Cedar BMX Park raised $5,000 for the society with their 2008 event.
Races began in 1981 to benefit the society that helps fight blood cancers, and the event has raised $3.5 million to date.
