Eugene J. Cutler Jr., 44, of Scranton, formerly of Dalton, died Sunday, May 25, at home, after an apparent heart attack. He had suffered from heart disease for the past 10 years.
Born Nov. 6, 1963, in Scranton, son of the late Eugene J. Sr. and Joan Clarke Cutler, he lived in Dalton before moving to Scranton. He was a 1981 graduate of Bishop Hannan High School. Before his illness, he was a chef and worked in prominent area restaurants, including the Ryah House at the Inn at Nichols Village. He was a fun-loving friend to many who shared his witty sense of humor with those in his company. His passion for cooking led him to be a talented chef. He enjoyed movies, music and the pleasures life offered him. His special character will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him, especially his beloved dog, Seamus.
Surviving are a sister, Barbara Cutler, Dalton; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial was to be Thursday, May 29 at Our Lady of the Abingtons Church, 700 W. Main St., Dalton, to be celebrated by Rev. John J. Kilpatrick. Interment Cathedral Cemetery.
