Lackawanna County and Bike Scranton will hold a Bike and Scooter Fest in Celebration of Alternative Transportation in Lackawanna County on Sunday, August 24 from 2 to 6 p.m. on Penn Avenue between Mulberry and Linden Streets in downtown Scranton. The street will be blocked off for the festival.
The goal of the event is to promote green living and alternative means of transportation. Information will be available from various groups promoting alternative transportation, sustainability and other green living ideas.
Music will be provided by Charles Havira, the Bog Swing Band and Retro D.J. Conor McGuigan. Refreshments will be available from the Banshee Pub and Restaurant. Parking is available in the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce parking lot, with on-street parking on Linden Street.
Bike Scranton is a new group that is currently working with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to design bike routes in the city of Scranton.
