Fall Fun in the Abingtons was hosted by the Abington Business and Professional Association (ABPA) on Saturday, Oct.11. Events were held at South Abington Park and in downtown Clarks Summit. Prizes were donated courtesy of the Clarks Summit Borough and Kidazzle. A pumpkin carving contest was held and the winners were Aiden Crum for first place and Kameron Williams for second place. The winning pumpkins are on display at Kidazzle, and the remaining pumpkins will be on display throughout town and at South Abington Park through October. A scarecrow-making party was also held and finished characters are featured on parking meters throughout town. Free Halloween face painting was provided by Happy Faces from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the clock tower. A Halloween Parade was held Sunday at the Humane Society of Lackawanna County, 1 p.m., at the shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road. Participants were asked to bring a wish list item for the animals to the event. Gwen Stewart, Carrie Slusser, Beth Weary and Debbie Everett were committee chairmen for the event.
