The Easter Bunny made early deliveries in the Abington areaSaturday, April 3. Egg hunts were hosted by the Dalton Lions Club across from the Dalton Fire Hall; by the South Abington Lions and the Chinchilla Hose Company at the South Abington Recreation Fields; by the Girl Scout Senior/Ambassador Troop 50260 at the Newton Recreation Center and by Tim and Jill Jones with a group of neighbors in Dalton.
Tim and Jill Jones have hosted an egg hunt for approximately 10 years at their home. This past weekend, neighbors and friends join together to fill 2,000 plastic eggs with candy and coins.
Three weeks prior to the expected Egg Hunt at the Newton Recreation Center it was announced that it would not be hosted. Troop 50260 learned of this at their meeting and stepped up to run the Easter Eggstravaganza for area children 10 and younger. Abington Girl Scout Area Manager Al Vargo will offer a Girl Scout update in a column in the April 14 edition of The Abington Journal.
