On Thursday, Feb.7, a presentation was given by all Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) members at Abington Heights High School and Abington Heights Middle School Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program coordinator.
Wegmans announced that as a store they will no longer sell any tobacco products in their stores. In honor of this decision, SADD awarded Wegmans a plaque for their contribution to a tobacco free environment. The DARE program awarded them a certificate for the same reasons and also for donations to the DARE graduation picnic for the past five years. DARE also presented WNEP Channel 16 with a certificate for their coverage and contributions to the program for the past five years. Various personalities from the station annually speak at the DARE graduation picnic.
