LCTA offers reduced fares

Lackawanna County Coordinated Transportation System is now offering a new program that provides a reduced fare transportation service to travelers with disabilities. Riders can request the service by calling LCCTS between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at 963-6795. Appointments must be made up to two weeks in advance, or by noon the day before they wish to travel. Requests for Monday must be made by noon the prior Friday. To be eligible for the discounted fare, a person must be a county resident, have a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act and be between 18 and 64 years old. Program applications are available through the mail by contacting the LCCTS office, or can be picked up at the LCCTS office, 800 North South Road, Scranton. Documentation of the disability from a qualified professional is required.
