Free fuel

The Scranton-Lackawanna Human Development Agency, Inc. is accepting application for emergency fuel for households. Applications are available at the Agency office at the Bank Towers Building , 321 Spruce St., 1st floor, Scranton. Office hours start at 8:30 a.m. If applying in person, come to the door at the corner of Spruce St. and Wyoming Ave. Households must be within the guidelines and in need of an immediate delivery to be eligible for this service. The present guidelines allow $800 per eligible household for the winter of 2008-2009. For details, call 963-6836. The income guidelines: Household size of 1, and annual income limit, $23,110; household, 2 and income, $30,221; household, 3, income, $37,332; household, 4, income, $44,443; household, 5, income $51,554; household, 6, income $58,665; household, 7, income of $59,998; household, 8, income $61,332; household, 9, income $ 62,665; household, 10 and income, $64,200. For each additional person add $5,400. You will receive a written notice explaining eligibility and the amount of assistance. Payments are generally sent directly to a utility company or fuel dealer and are credited to your account. Please allow 30 days for a response.
