Eight Lackawanna County 4-H textile science members from the Glenburn Sewing Club recently competed in the regional 4-H fashion revue in Montrose. Those members were: Cheyanne Richards, Dalton; Lauren Baldwin, Dalton; Rachel Decker, Clarks Summit; Kelsey Landsiedel, Dalton; Samantha Seidel, Dalton; Marikay Van Fleet, Clarks Summit; Isabelle Standefer, Jermyn; and Tiffany Gregory, Olyphant.
Five members received recognition for their outstanding work. Cheyanne Richards and Lauren Baldwin tied for first place in the Junior Non Wearable division. Rachel Decker won the Junior Wearable Year 1 division and Kelsey Landsiedel received honorable mention in that same category. Also Isabelle Standefer was named one of four winners in the senior division.
The 4-H clothing program is sponsored by Penn State Cooperative Extension. It teaches youth ages eight to nineteen clothing construction skills as well as increases their self-esteem, poise and confidence.
