U of S player makes professional debut

Former University of Scranton baseball player Todd McGee of Chadds Ford, Pa. made his professional pitching debut with the Albany Quails of the Peach State League Wednesday, July 7. In a 6-1 loss to the Milledgeville Capitals in Milledgeville, Ga., McGee went five innings, scattered six hits, struck out four, walked only one batter, and allowed only one earned run. He was not involved in the decision. In three seasons for the Royals, McGee made 33 appearances, started 24 times, won seven games and struck out 91 batters in 137 innings. He was also a three-time member of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll and was twice named the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week. He struck out a career-high 10 batters in picking up a complete game 2-0 victory over eventual Landmark Conference champion Moravian College April 11 at Connell Park in Scranton.
