Charles I. Edwards, Nicholson, died Sunday, May 30, at his home. He was the husband of the former Charlene R. Caley Edwards. The couple had been married for 39 years.
He was born in Wilkes -Barre, son of the late Charles and Emily Lake Edwards. Prior to his retirement, he was a manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He was a member of the Chinchilla United Methodist Church, Emanon Golf Club and the United Way where he served as a loan executive. He was also a former member of the Independent Volunteer Fire Company in Kingston.
Charles died surrounded by his family. He will be deeply missed by all of those who knew him. His passion was golf. He also enjoyed spending time with his son, restoring and cruising their 1979 Fire Bird.
Also surviving are a son, Charles A. and his wife Holly, Factoryville; a brother, William, NC and a grandson, Ford Vanwert.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brian J. Edwards.
The funeral was to be June 3 from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit with services by the Rev Anthony Swartz, pastor of the Chinchilla United Methodist Church. Interment was in Hanover Cemetery, Wilkes- Barre.
