Cedar BMX hosts free clinic May 8

Two nationally ranked bicycle motocross (BMX) racers will be giving an instructional clinic at Cedar BMX Track in Newton on Saturday, May 8, from 3 to 5 p.m. The clinic is offered free of charge to anyone that is interested in learning to race BMX, which is bicycle racing performed on a packed dirt track with small hills, turns and other obstacles. Riders compete against other riders the same age and skill level. Riders range in ages from 3 years old to over 50 years old at our local track, Cedar BMX. Cedar BMX track is located behind the Red Barn Village, off Newton Ransom Blvd. in Newton. A bicycle, helmet, long sleeves and pants are required. There are a few bikes available at the track that will be loaned out on a first-come basis. Registration for this event is required to be guaranteed a spot.
