“Art and Life” is the focus of this year’s Glenburn Township Art Show and Sale, featuring a variety of mediums and categories, such as still life, landscape, portraiture, wild life, and abstracts.

The 10th annual event is scheduled to open with an artists’ reception from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Glenburn Township Building, 54 Waterford Road, Dalton. It will run through Dec. 11. Hours are 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays or by appointment. Admission is free and light refreshments will be provided at the reception, courtesy of the artists.

According to event organizer Joanne Benson, last year’s show hosted more than 40 artists, with 115 pieces, including paintings, photography and more, in a wide range of styles.

“We have everybody from amateurs to professionals displaying their works here,” she said.

The show is juried for space and includes a people’s choice award with a cash prize.

Entries are accepted through Oct. 16, and open to artists from Lackawanna and surrounding counties. Additional information and an official entry form are available online from the township’s website, at glenburntownship.org.
