Fourth graders from South Abington Elementary School grabbed jump ropes Tuesday, March 2, for a good cause: heart health. The Jump Rope for the Heart event, which benefits the American Heart Association, has been taking place at the school for the past 10 years. Phys. Ed. Teach Patrick Kennedy estimates his students have brought in more than $35,000. After learning about the benefits of jumping rope in class, the students collected donations. Students alternated with teammates, jumping rope for one hour, 15 minutes. Students were able to have their hand traced for a heart poster or refuel with orange slices. For more photos, see .
