Students from the Howard Gardner School in Scranton recently attended the United Nations Day 2007 at the Radisson in Scranton. The Howard Gardner School was the recipient of the 2007 David J. Wenzel Peace Fund Gift. The children were part of a small student group that made a presentation about the HGS schoolwide project helping poverty stricken African villages by adopting the Millennium Project. The school wrote to 23 different schools to ask them to join the project. The students were also part of a collection of school supplies and Chap Stick for children in the village of Asaso Ghana. Some participating students are shown above.
