On Saturday, Dec. 15, from 4 to 6:30 p.m., Lacawac Sanctuary will host a Winter Solstice celebration. Visitors can enjoy a warm campfire, seasonal stories and activities and sip hot chocolate and roast hot dogs over the fire. The Winter Solstice marks the first day of the season of winter. It is the shortest day of the year in the sense that the length of time between sunrise and sunset on this day is at minimum for the year. The cost of the program is $3 for members and $5 for non-members, 12 and under free. Pre-registration is appreciated. For more information, call 689-9494.
