Quarters for a cure. In addition to remembering those we have lost to cancer and embracing those who are survivors, Relay for Life of the Abingtons is joining with other Relays across the Northeast Region to break a world record.
In an attempt to make history, everyone is asked to bring quarters with them to try to line a record number of quarters around a quarter mile track. The original Relay for Life record was set in Atlanta, Georgia with 1,724,000 quarters, an equivalent to $431,000. Between June 1 and June 10, ten different Relays will be occurring, including the one at the Abington Heights High School, the new location for this year.
Join the efforts of 5-year-old Clarks Green resident, Jacob Kosierowski, who has been undergoing treatment for cancer for the past three years. This brave little boy and his family will be out at each Relay, trying to help break the record, join the community in remembrance, celebrations and the fight against cancer.
