David Bradshaw, now a fifth grade student at Abington Heights Middle School, suffered burns over 80 percent of his body when his Scranton home was destroyed by fire. He is now living with his grandparents and mother in the Abington Heights School District and attending Abington Heights Middle School. During the first week of school, David participated in an informational assembly with assistance from Lehigh Valley Burn Center personnel. His fellow students received information about the process of healing from burns. Shown at the presentation are, from left: David Bradshaw, fifth grade; Tina Santaniello, school nurse; Joanne McLaughlin, community educator at Lehigh Valley Burn Center; and Liz Hess, social worker at Lehigh Valley Burn Center.
