Florence M. Arndt L.P.N., Clarks Summit, formerly of Lake Worth, FL and Parma, OH, died Wednesday morning at The Laurels Health and Rehab in Peckville. She was the widow of Frank H. Arndt who died in 2003. Born in Wilmington DE, daughter of the late William and Mabel Young Merkins, Florence grew up in Philadelphia. Prior to retirement she was a Private Duty Nurse and her greatest joy was taking care of others. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Dalton. Surviving are a daughter, Linda King, and her husband, James; a sister, Helen Reed; three grandchildren, Emily Hart, and Timothy and Daniel King; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Ruth Leiterman, Irene Cahill and Miriam Simcox; three brothers: Hubert, Billy, and George Merkins. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to AseraCare Hospice and the Laurels in Peckville for their loving, compassionate care. The funeral was held on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 11a.m. from Fellowship Baptist Church, Dalton, with services by Rev. Lawrence Walter, pastor. Interment will be in Clarks Green Cemetery.
