SOUTH ABINGTON TWP. — May 8 was a busy day for Abington Heights High School, with a slew of activities, from a triathlon to a mock accident with local emergency responders. Titled “Extending Learning Outside of the Classroom and Promoting Healthy Life-Style Choices Day,” it stretched from various on-campus locations all the way to Fords Pond, five miles away.

The Commonwealth Health One Life Flight Helicopter landed on the school’s practice football field shortly after its scheduled 10:30 a.m. arrival and students were able to climb aboard and get a look at the equipment. During that same time, the Suicide Awareness Walk was underway on the track and a health fair was set up indoors with an outdoor cookout.
