CLARKS GREEN — The Abington Council of Governments (ACOG) discussed its need for more municipal members at its May 7 meeting, in the absence of a quorum.

ACOG Secretary and Clarks Green Borough Council member Marnie Palmer brought up the idea of visiting the various Abingtons municipalities during regular meetings to recruit members, which she noted do not have to be elected officials.

ACOG President and Ransom Township Supervisor Dennis Macheska noted the council received the resignation of Clarks Summit Councilman Pat Williams from his position of ACOG vice president, due to a scheduling conflict with the meeting times.

Also present at the meeting were ACOG municipal representatives Bill Montgomery, Dalton Borough; Joyce Hatala, Benton Township; and Chuck Wrobel, Factoryville Borough. Brief municipal reports were given, but no minutes were approved or votes taken, due to the absence of quorum.

The next ACOG meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, June 4 at the Clarks Green Borough Building. The council will not meet during July and August.
