Hard work pays off for NEPA Flames

The NEPA Girls Flames Travel Team achieved an overall winning record of 14-6.

The team played in the Showdown at Chocolate Town from April 3-4. The girls played their first game against the Panthers from Philadelphia and won, 16-15. They played their second game against CYVBA from Lancaster and won, 47-2. They then lost their third game against the Snipers from State College, 42-22.

Next, the Flames played in the Electric City Madness in Scranton from April 10-12. They lost against In The Zone from Bath, 30-2. They played against Mad Dogs from Philly and lost, 42-31.

The Flames then played at the Valley Forge Hardwood Battle Tournament at King Of Prussia from April 18-19. Their first game was against Delaware Magic from Delaware, which they won, 38-12. Then they played the Merion Swishers and won, 33-12. Next they beat CES from King Of Prussia, 33-6 and The Attitude from Philly, 23-13. The team played against the Panthers from Philadelphia in the championship game and lost, 23-18 which placed it in second place.

The girls then competed in War at the Shore from April 25-26 in Tom’s River, NJ. They won all their games, against Staten Island Rebels, 30-10; Holwell Lady Sharks from New York, 39-16; the Jersey Warriors, 22-16; and the Toms River Starz, 44-3.
