The Lackawanna County Commission for Women will hold its Annual Health Seminar from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 16 at The Commonwealth Medical College, 525 Vine St., Scranton. This year’s topic is “Care and Support of a Person with Breast Cancer.”

The seminar will begin with a tour of the campus and close with a light meal and panel discussion moderated by Dipti Pancholy, MD, of Clarks Summit, event chair.

Pancholy is an active member of the community. She is chairperson for Internal Medicine Curriculum, Care Transition and Consultation Medicine at The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education; Chief Medical Officer for North Penn Cardiovascular Specialists and Assistant Professor of Medicine at The Commonwealth Medical College.

Other program speakers include: Lisa Thomas, MD, Medical Oncologist; Madhava Baikadi, MD, Radiation Oncologist; Timothy Farrell, MD, Surgeon; Ira Krafchin, MD, FACS, Plastic Surgeon; and Maria Cuiferri Wansacz, ND Lac, Naturopathic Doctor.
