The Abington Heights Educational Improvement Organization (AEIO) received a donation of $30,000 from Penn Security Bank and a $10,000 donation from Pennstar Bank.
The funds will be used to supplement and enhance the educational environment and programs within the Abington Heights School District. The AEIO brings together ideas, people and resources to support innovative educational programs outside the regular school curriculum.
Popular Abington Heights School District programs supported by the AEIO grants are: Odyssey of the Mind, FIRST Robotics, Greenhouse, Music Technology Lab, Weather Bug, Drama Society, Arts Alliance, TV Studies Project, Summer Arts Alive, Science Olympiad, Aquaponics/Aquaculture, The Gathering and the Kuiper Award for Teaching Excellence.
