Building friendships at the library

When looking back at 2014, some of my favorite memories include children’s parties, magic shows, science experiments, art displays, book clubs, game days and many friends.

As I remember so many exciting experiences that were shared at the Dalton Community Library, I realize how much they have meant to me and many people in our community and how they’ve enriched so many days with friendships. The Dalton Community Library isn’t only a wonderful place to get books, movies, or information. It’s a place where people gather for many reasons.

Meet a friend at a book club meeting or participate in a meaningful discussion during our Conscious Conversation group.

Come in to learn how to knit or crochet.

Bring a little one to story time, and you can be sure he or she will share a smile with a new friend.

Watch the children laugh and listen and do things together. Our Story time group painted rocks last Spring to decorate the library’s front yard. Our after school Kid’s Crew had a comedy show last Spring and the children wrote their own jokes. They also participated in an art class last summer that made jewelry, bookmarks and sun catchers. All of these age appropriate learning experiences made lasting memories.

The Dalton Community Library is growing in numbers and in friendships. Our patrons benefit from our close knit community and get to know each other during our groups. It’s such an inviting atmosphere.

We encourage anyone to try one of our programs or request a new one, since we’re willing to try new groups. If we can get attendees, we’ll make it part of our schedule. Call 570-563-2014 or email with a suggestion. Check our website for our schedule, as well:

The times shared at our groups during 2014 have been wonderful, and we look forward to more exciting programs and fun times in 2015. Getting to know our patrons is what makes the Dalton Community Library a friendly place. Thank you for visiting and sharing your time and suggestions. Hope to see you at the Dalton Community Library soon.

Merry Christmas and Happy 2015!
