While preparing for the Abington Business and Professional Association’s Diva Night Out in the Abingtons, Sole to Soul owners Dorothy and Sean O’Connor thought to themselves, “Why not do something for women who are treated like less than divas, but deserve to be treated as divas?”

So the Clarks Summit shoe store, along with Yaleet Inc., Distributors of Naot footwear, teamed up to continue their annual tradition of donating $10,000 worth of new shoes to the Women’s Resource Center (WRC) in Scranton. In addition, Sole to Soul will host a display for the WRC and a donation box during Diva Night Out, to be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, and anyone making a donation to the WRC will receive a coupon for a future purchase at the shop.

“Every woman deserves to feel like a diva,” Dorothy O’Connor said.

The Women’s Resource Center provides comprehensive services for female and male victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking in Lackawanna and Susquehanna Counties. Its services include a crisis hotline, crisis counseling, emergency shelter, safe housing, legal services, support services, community education and advocacy.
