The University of Scranton String Orchestra, a 30-member ensemble brought together by a mutual love of music-making, will perform a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21 in the university’s Houlihan-McLean Center.The program will feature compositions by Holst and Vaughan Williams; arrangements of works by Tchaikovsky, Borodin, Smetana, and Rimsky-Korsakov and arrangements for string orchestra of six movements of Moussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition” and Piazzola’s “Libertango.” Shown during rehearsal is James Vasky, a Chinchilla native and graduate student in software engineering at the university.
