In addition to first and second place, John Werner, Hicksville, N.Y., senior marketing major at Marywood University, with his team, CrashOnCampus, received an offer from a venture capitalist to further fund their concept.

Marywood was one of 14 area colleges and universities participating in the Entrepreneurial Institute competition, held at Marywood University and Lackawanna County Commissioner’s Entrepreneurial Launch Pad in the Scranton Electric Building.

The Business Plan Concept Competition is part of the Fall 2014 Entrepreneurship Institute, sponsored by techBridge, a regional collegial organization that collaboratively strives to create and embrace entrepreneurial opportunities with the purpose of growing technology and biotechnology wealth within Northeastern Pennsylvania. The fall competition prepares students for the Business Plan Competition, which is sponsored by tecBridge, in the spring.
