It is full speed ahead this July for The Dalton Community Library’s Summer Reading Program. The children and young adults have been participating in educational and exciting activities. They’ve been creative during art groups, competitive during our 60 Minute Challenge group, empowered during yoga and imaginative during our Kid’s Crew. There’s lots of fun and laughs with our kids.

There’s still time to join us by registering at The Dalton Community Library where the programs are free and continue throughout July. All those exciting events could be found on our website https://lclshome.org/dalton or please call 570-563-2014 or email JFamiletti@albright.org with any questions you may have.

Not only do we offer many summer programs, but we are encouraging the children to strengthen their literacy skills by reading. When you register in our reading program, we keep a list of all library books that each child reads. There isn’t a specific number of books that have to be read, we just encourage the kids to take books home and read. It’s easy, fun and exercise for our children’s brains. There are little prizes to earn, too.

All kids enrolled in the summer reading program are invited to a special presentation Tuesday, July 8. The Dalton Community Library is happy to present Mark Piazza and “Extremely Mental.” This program promises to be an experience of mind-boggling demonstrations and psychological mysteries. It will begin at 1 p.m.

Our adult groups will be continuing through the summer months. Please check our website for specific information about Ma Jong, Bridge club, book conversations and more. We are happy to have these groups available and encourage new members to stop in. Information about adult speakers or presentations will be on our website as well.

We wish everyone a happy and safe July!
