A Pet Expo will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 4 at The Viewmont Mall, benefiting the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter. A range of professional and artistic vendors, as well as pet accessory and craft vendors will sell their specialized services and products.

Photographer Elaine Tweedy, owner of I Got the Shot Photography will present Black Tie and Tails, a unique pet photography session intended to make pets look like stars. Pet owners will have the opportunity to purchase Elaine’s professional, digital photos of their pets.

People looking for a painted portrait of their pet can check out local artist, Sheila Sankar’s Paintings. Anyone who is interested in having her paint their pet’s photo can bring a photo of their pet to the Pet Expo to place a custom order.

Animal communicator Leslie Zuber will be available with The Dog Pack Oracle Cards. Pets are welcome to accompany their owner during the card reading; however, people do not need their pets present because Leslie claims the ability to remotely tune into animals’ chakras (energy centers).

For Paws and a Tail Agility will demonstrate agility training with an agility course set up in one of the courts.

The fundraising event is sponsored by The UPS Store No. 3223, Clarks Summit; Hibble and Associates Real Estate, Clarks Summit and The Hilton Scranton and Conference Center.

All proceeds will benefit Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, a community non-profit organization in South Abington Township which provides care for animals that are homeless, sick and injured.
