James J. Ryder, 44, of South Abington Twp., died Feb. 13 from injuries sustained due to an automobile accident. His wife is the former Marianne Stasko. The couple have been married for 23 years.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of Annamae Durkin Ryder of Scranton, and the late Joseph C. Ryder. He was the owner of Ryder Asset Management, Clarks Summit. Jim was a member of the Church of St. Gregory, Clarks Green. He was currently serving as Worshipful Master of Oriental Star Lodge, No. 588, Free & Accepted Masons, and was a member of the Rotary Club of the Abingtons. He was involved for several years as a coach in the Abington Little League and the Abington Youth Soccer Program.

Jim enjoyed golfing, fishing, cooking, camping, gardening and spending time with his family.

Also surviving are a daughter, Lauren Marie Elizabeth Ryder at home; a son, Thomas James Ryder, at home; two sisters, Joanne E. Scanlon and her husband, James C., So. Abington Twp., and Mari Ryder Regan of Raleigh, NC; a niece, Colleen Mullally and three nephews, James C. Scanlon Jr., Shawn and Conner Regan.
