Three Abington Heights high school powerlifters had successful performances at the Pennsylvania Teenage Powerlifting Championships held at Emmaus High School Feb. 18.

Sophomore Jerry Murray finished in first place of the freshman/sophomore 148lb. division. Murray squatted 375 lbs., benched 225 and deadlifted 380.

Freshman Tyler Logan finished in second place in the 148 lb. freshman/sophomore division. Logan squatted 305 lbs., benched 185 and deadlifted 340.

Sophomore Bobby Bauman finished in second place in the 275lb. freshman/sophomore division. Bauman squatted 330 lbs., benched 215 and deadlifted 350.

According to head coach Claude Welcome, about 150 lifters participated in the event.

This was the last tune-up meet for Murray and Logan, who have qualified for USAPL High School Nationals in Wisconsin Dells, Wis. from March 23-25.

Bauman will likely return to action during the USAPL Pennsylvania meet, which will take place in Clarks Summit March 31.
