Did you know that 18 percent of Lackawanna County residents are not literate? SCOLA Volunteers for Literacy offers training to be a literacy tutor, to help improve literacy.
SCOLA announces that registrations are being accepted, now through Tuesday, August 4, for an adult literacy volunteer Tutor Training workshop.
The workshop will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at 2013 Boulevard Avenue, Suite One, in Scranton on Tuesdays, August 4 and 11 and Thursdays, August 6 and 13.
The workshop is also available on DVD and VHS for individual training.
Trainees must attend all five sessions. Parking is available.
