October is one of our favorite months at the Dalton Community Library. It is book and bake sale time. Get your calendar ready and let’s get right to the details: the big sale is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21.

Let me answer some questions regularly asked:

Will the sale have adult fiction, non fiction, and biography selections?

Yes.

Will there be children’s books, music and puzzles?

Yes.

Are there books about cooking, gardening, mysteries and history?

Yes, we’ve got them all.

Plus, an exciting offer at this sale is the large amount of school books and teaching supplies that have been donated. There are many text workbooks, teaching kits, CDs, classroom items, borders, posters and more. These items are perfect for decorating a classroom or to use for home schooling. There will be an entire section dedicated to education with loads of useful items donated from a generous teacher. This kindness is passed on, knowing the proceeds of our fall and spring sales benefit the library and its programs.

And, for the customers’ easy browsing, all books at our sales are organized and priced with many items as reasonable as 25 cents to $1. It will be worth your time to stop in and check out everything. There’s truly something for everyone.

I must mentioned bake sale items made for our devoted patrons. There are people who visit our sale just to look for their favorite baked items. We always have cookies, brownies, pastries and breads, along with some candy items for sale. There’s enough to satisfy any sweet tooth cravings.

As for regular library news, our programs this fall have been running smoothly. The adult programs are in full swing and children’s programs have been off to an exciting start.

It’s nice having strong support for our programs, along with such friendly patrons.

To inquire about any of the library’s programs, call us at 570-563-2014 or email JFamiletti@albright.org.

Also, keep in mind the library is closed on Monday, Oct. 9 for Columbus Day.

Hope to see many friends at the book and bake sale on Saturday, Oct. 21. Come out and support the Dalton Community Library.
