TUNKHANNOCK — A journey back in movie history will come to the Dietrich Theater at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22.

“Judy Garland and the Hollywood Musical” explores Judy Garland’s contribution to American film from the Depression to the Cold War. With a variety of film clips from “The Wizard of Oz,” “Babes in Arms,” “Girl Crazy,” “Meet Me in St. Louis” and others, the program will explore how Garland’s film roles reflect important elements of the American personality, as it evolved from the late 1930s to the early 1950s.

This free presentation is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Tunkhannock. Tickets are available at the door or may be reserved by calling 570-996-1500.

The presenter, Dr. Phillip Atteberry, teaches English, American popular music and film at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville. Returning by popular demand,Dr. Atteberry will offer his third presentation at the Dietrich Theater.
