NEWTON TWP - Just in time for summer.

Country Alliance Church will kick off a new season with a hot dog roast at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 27. The annual event allows church members and their friends to get together and have fun.

There will be a bonfire in the church yard for people to roast hot dogs on a stick, and to also have a sing-along (for those who want to sing). There will also be outdoor games such as horseshoes and corn ball. There will also be games for children, such as red light, green light and 123.

Besides hot dogs, food will also include salads, snack, desserts and drinks. The event will is free but donations will be accepted.

At last year’s event, participants people had the opportunity to make new friends and get together with old ones, while singing hymns and telling stories around the bonfire.

“This is an ideal chance to meet some of your neighbors and enjoy some good food,” said Pastor Rob Lopez. “Come on out and join us for a great time.”
