NORTH ABINGTON TWP. — The SMART Angler Program for children ages eight to 12 will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25 at Lackawanna State Park.

The free event is designed to provide instruction on the types of fish found in Pennsylvania, fish habitats, safety, equipment, outdoor manners and protecting water resources. Each participant will learn basic fishing skills and get to put those skills to use. All equipment will be provided.

Those who need an accommodation to participate in park activities due to a disability should contact the park at 570-945-3239. With at least three days’ notice, interpreters for people who are deaf or hard of hearing are available for educational programs.
