SCRANTON — The University of Scranton is seeking local nonprofit organizations that need student volunteers.
The university’s Center for Service and Social Justice will hold its annual fair for local nonprofit organizations seeking college-age volunteers from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15 on campus.
The fair provides a forum for university students and student clubs interested in service projects to meet with area nonprofit organizations offering volunteer opportunities.
Last year, more than 750 students and 60 nonprofit organizations participated in the fair. During the 2013-14 academic year, a total of 2,853 University of Scranton students participated in community service programs, volunteering a total number of 175,000 hours.
