SCRANTON — Twenty-nine area professionals will participate in the Leadership Lackawanna Core Program Class of 2015-16.
Participants in Leadership Lackawanna, a Northeastern Pennsylvania community leadership and professional development program, gain relevant skills and enhanced understandings of the issues and topics relevant to the greater Scranton area.
As part of the program, they are also assigned to complete various community service projects. Past Leadership Lackawanna projects include the restoration of Hanlon’s Grove at Nay Aug Park and Dress for Success Lackawanna. Organizers say group projects build teamwork skills, develop resourcefulness and engender a sense of accomplishment through the impact they have on the community. All projects directly benefit the community, address a demonstrated need and result in a tangible end product.
