SOUTH ABINGTON TWP. — The Griffin Pond Animal Shelter will host its annual Halloween Pet Costume Pageant and Fall Festival from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18 at the shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Rd. Pageant registration will be held from 12:30 to 1 p.m. and costume judging will begin at 1 p.m.

The cost of registration is $5 per pet. Guest judges will be on hand to award winners of the best pet costumes in the categories of most creative, best pet and owner character team and best group costume.

The festival will include something of interest for everyone — adults, kids and pets — such as professional and artistic vendors, a photographer with digital Halloween and fall themed pet photos, pet paintings, an animal communicator, airbrushed face painting and tattoos, What the Fork food truck, baked goods and music.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, which is a a community non-profit organization and does not receive funding from any federal, state or county governments or national animal organizations.
