TUNKHANNOCK — The Fifth Annual Wreaths Around Tunkhannock, an activity that combines a wreath hunt with shopping and weekly prizes, is underway with 36 businesses and stores participating in the month-long event, which runs until Saturday, Dec. 19.

Contest participants can pick up a registration card at any of the participating businesses. Each featured member business is displaying a uniquely-themed Tunkhannock Business and Professional Association (TBPA) wreath. Shoppers identify the wreath’s theme on their registration card.

The complete list of participants can be found on the TBPA website, tunkhannockbusiness.com.

After visiting 10 businesses, participants can submit their cards weekly to be included in the Saturday drawing. Prizes are gift cards donated by the participating businesses with a total value of over $500. There will also be a drawing at the end of the event for one “full-card” winner who visits all locations.

The TBPA event complements the annual Christmas in Our Hometown, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Dec. 4 and 5. Activities include Tree Lighting, Santa and Mrs. Claus, Living Window performances at Greenwood’s Furniture, Ice Sculptures, Trolley Rides, Horse and Wagon Rides, a free movie, cookie walk and workshop at the Dietrich Theater, a gingerbread house display and demonstration and an expanded model train display.
