CLARKS SUMMIT — The Abington Community Library recently completed its IDEAL PARTNERS marketing campaign, highlighting and increasing awareness of local partnerships that are cultivated throughout the year.

This campaign focused on the five Pennsylvania Library Association’s (PaLA) 21st Century Literacies Initiative, PA Forward, conceived to give voice to what the community already knows: with the right support, libraries are ideally positioned to become the community centers of information, technology, and learning that will fuel educational and economic opportunity for all of our citizens.

The initiative focused on five literacies: Basic, Civic and Social, Health, Information, and Financial.

Posters representing the five literacies showcasing our IDEAL PARTNERS are on permanent display at the library. The original photography was done by Guy Cali, of Guy Cali and Associates, who donated his time, talents, and all materials to create the photos of the IDEAL PARTNERS campaign.

The final photo is a shot of the library, taken in November by Cali.

Established in the Abingtons as Colorgraphics in 1973, Guy Cali Associates has long been a leader in supplying high quality photography. He moved his business to Winola Road in 1994, offering a full range of photographic services. He is a long standing member of the Professional Photographers of America as well as the Professional Photographers of Pennsylvania. His studio is fully accredited with Certified Professional Photographers on staff. Personally, Cali has been actively involved in the community as a member and Past President of Rotary Club of the Abingtons and with Meals on Wheels.

Guy represents the IDEAL PARTNER as a business person who has donated countless hours of service and talent to the community. He donated countless gift certificates for worthy events and has taken hundreds of photos gratis. At the library, he not only created the photos for IDEAL PARTNERS, but also took the original IDEAL PATRON campaign photos in 2007.

The library applauds community-minded businesses such as Guy Cali and Associates for showcasing not only the library and what it has to offer, but also all the amenities that make the Abingtons an ideal place to live, work, and play.
