Keystone College students plan “Cupcake Challenge” to benefit Pancreatic Cancer Action Network

LA PLUME — Keystone College students are hoping members of the college community and local residents can help pick the area’s best cupcakes and raise money to help fight cancer at the same time.

Students in Associate Professor Brenda Lidy’s Hospitality Business Management and Events Planning class are conducting the third annual Cupcake Challenge from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9 in Evans Hall in the Hibbard Campus Center. Proceeds will benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Keystone students who wish to attend can donate $4 in advance and $5 at the door and members of the general public can donate $10 at the door to sample and vote for the best cupcakes. Raffle prizes will be awarded. Tickets can be purchased in advance by e-mailing

Participating bakeries include: Personellized Cakes, Glenburn Diner; Sodexo at Keystone College, Sodexo at King’s College, Market Street Sweets, Cookies by Jenny, Zummo’s Café, Keystone Konfections, Genetti’s-Dickson City, Sisile Maruzzelli, Creative Cakes, Alicia Brieta, and Wegman’s – Dickson City.
