The Lackawanna County Commissioners presented a proclamation aimed at helping increase public awareness in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis (MS). More than 2.3 million people worldwide are afflicted with MS, which impacts the central nervous system’s ability to send information to the brain and body. The disease affects individuals between the ages of 20 and 50 and is more prevalent in women. It is difficult to diagnose because there is no single test for the disease.
