First National Community Bank (FNCB) donated $1,200 to The University of Scranton Early Learning Center through the Pennsylvania Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. Since 2010, FNCB has contributed over $1,000,000 to local educational and scholarship organizations through the EITC program. The Department of Community and Economic Development approved the university as an eligible pre-kindergarten scholarship organization. This designation allows eligible businesses to contribute a portion of their state tax dollars to the University to be used as scholarships for eligible families. The university’s Early Learning Center opened in August 2015 in the newly renovated facility at the former Madison School on Quincy Avenue.
